A Cut Glass and Silver Mounted Claret Jug. The claret jug with an orb finial, over the domed and hinged cover. the broad collar with a swept and bowed spout to one side, and a scrolling and tapered handle to the reverse. The body with reeded panels of hobnail decoration, alternating with oval panels of clear glass. The panels against a ground of fine hatching, the underside with a star burst decoration. Hallmarked for S Blanckensee, Birmingham 1905. Height 9 1/4 inches, 24cm. Width 5 3/4 inches, 14.5cm. Depth 4 1/2 inches, 11cm.Ref: 23631
